WHAT IS STARTUP CHALLENGE?

Think you have the next big idea and need a little help getting started?

How To Web Belgrade Community Event wants to challenge all the startups to a show-off which could get them valuable feedback, promotion and, for the winners, cool bragging rights. Any startup from anywhere in the world can enter the competition and how their idea could the one that will rock the web.

ENTRY CRITERIA

The startups which wish to take part in the competition have to comply to a few rules:

  • anyone from anywhere in the world can enter the competition
  • they need to have less than 2 years of activity
  • they can come from any part of the world but their startups need to target a global or international market
  • they haven’t raised any VC funding until the present moment

HOW TO ENTER STARTUP CHALLENGE

In order to enter Startup Challenge you need to:

  • complete our entry form until 5 June 2011
  • send us a PPT for your startup presentation pitch
  • a video elevator pitch (not longer then 5 minutes) would be considered a plus
  • focus on the judging criteria presented bellow

  • Overall feasibility and impact

THE STARTUP CHALLENGE FINAL

5 startup teams that are chosen for the Startup Challenge will receive:

  • one ticket, 50% discount for the second ticket (15 EUR)
  • 5 minutes presentation of their new product or service for free to the 120 Internet professionals (incl. potential investors) who are attending the How To Web Belgrade 2011 Community Event on the main stage
  • individual discussions with select members of the jury, for getting feedback and improving their product or service

THE STARTUP CHALLENGE WINNERS

At the end of the conference, three of the five Startup Challenge finalists will be awarded based on the jury’s and attendees’ evaluation. The winners will be promoted via How to Web Belgrade 2011 Community Event official social media and other channels and get a great pack of rewards.

1st prize: Two free tickets for the How to Web 2011 Conference (in Bucharest later this year) along with two tickets at half price.

Dragana Petković

New media, web journalism, communication and PR specialist. Project manager and trainer at the Belgrade Open School, leading Serbian non-profit in the field of education and capacity building. Program director of the first school of web journalism in Serbia. Easily satisfied with the very best.
